Welcome to the September edition of FOCUS! We hope you had a pleasant summer and are ready for some exciting news from the BHMT. We were delighted to receive our first charity place at the London Marathon 2025 (27th April) – if you would like to apply for our mini ballot, please complete the short form with your proposed fundraising target for BHMT and your reason for wanting to take part. If you are successful, you will receive your entry, a BHMT running vest and professional marketing support for fundraising from Enthuse, partners of the London marathon!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who helped us to reach our ‘pledge’ target of £3135. We were bowled over by the generosity of our supporters, which has enabled us to go to the next stage of the Big Give Christmas campaign, where we find out who our match-funding Champion is. As mentioned in our previous Focus, we have chosen a football match as our event and are delighted to be collaborating with Beder in organising this fixture, specifically through their football club, Beder FC. What we now need are some enthusiastic supporters of the footballing variety, so please do come along and channel the indomitable spirit of Dominic Beer by cheering us on – come rain or shine! Our featured charity this month is Freedom Community Project, a multidisciplinary mental health project, which provides additional support services alongside counselling.
August was another successful month for fundraising activity with an incredible effort from Sean Abbott-Imboden, who successfully completed a unique endurance event called a quadathlon and raised £3,000.
